How Do I Know For Sure?
Life can feel tricky to maneuver at times. What if we can cut down the mystery and frustration of it all by tapping into the gift of intuition that is there to guide us?
How can we know for sure if we are making the right choice or decision?
That question in its translated version might sound something like: ‘How can I be sure the pick the thing that creates the outcome I expect?’
We want to control the outcome of the future! Well, that’s not likely.
We can’t ever really know anything for sure, right? But we can get a damn good idea of what is the next right thing on our path. Our innate gift of intuition offers us that insight. It exists to guide us.
This doesn’t mean there may not be a detour or bump in the road along the way; But you can be sure to receive the opportunity for the growth and learning you need at this present time.
What is my intuition and how to I get to it?
I think of intuition as our ‘inner knowing’ – a way of knowing that short cuts the ‘density’ of perceiving through the 5 senses. Intuition is a way of direct receiving that is lightning fast and complete.
Intuition is not clouded by the filter of our experiences that exist within our brain. It exists to guide us on our highest path.
Intuition is not a thinking exercise. It is an exercise of direct knowing, hearing, seeing, or feeling. You may suddenly know something, or you may receive a clear auditory or visual signal, or you may feel it in some part of your body.
What’s cool about this is, you are likely already using one of these intuitive channels in your life every day and may just be unaware of it!
Direct knowing is a way of knowing without having to understand ‘why.’ You just know.
Have you ever had this experience before? You just knew something without knowing why or how you knew it and later found out that your knowing was dead on. Maybe you knew it in your gut or in your heart.
Yeah, that’s direct knowing. It’s knowing without knowing how or why you know something, but you certainly know to trust it.
Direct hearing is receiving audible information directly into your brain, bypassing your physical ears. You can think of it as hearing with your ‘inner ears.’ I have two inner ears spots: One is inside my head just above and behind my right physical ear; the other is at the left side of my forehead.
‘And just whom are we hearing?’ you may be wondering right about now… You may be hearing from any non-physical Being or energy that is able to communicate with you. The Divine, some might call it. Talking to those who have passed over is a completely different topic.
If you are directing your conversation or question to some light being in particular (God, angels, ascended masters, personal guides, etc), it is likely that the (inner) audible answer you are receiving is from that being.
If you are receiving insight already and don’t know who it is coming from, you may ask whom you are speaking to and begin to develop a connection to them for ongoing work if you like.
This is the one everybody wants, right?! Most people want, hope, and expect to see something. I was once caught on that desire too.
I soon discovered that when I follow the information as it naturally and easily comes to me (in my case that was hearing and feeling) the other ‘senses’ developed much more quickly on their own without much effort. And now all my senses are quite well developed.
Direct seeing is seeing pictures, films, or images in your mind’s eye. Your ‘mind’s eye’ (or inner sight) is in the center of your head where your pineal gland sits. This space is inside the head, just above the ears and behind the area just above where your brows meet on your forehead. It helps to move your consciousness around inside your head to find your sweet spot.
You may already see things on a regular basis and that is something to recognize and build from.
This one seems to be quite common. It’s when we just feel it in our gut or heart, in our bones, or in our body somehow. We feel and know that something is or is not right for us. And if you understand what I mean by this, you have likely been doing this your whole life. You just may not have recognized the practical, real-world value of it!
Think of a time when you knew in your gut something wasn’t right and you did it anyway, only to realize later on that when you chose to cross your inner knowing, things didn’t work out.
The Practical Value
You may be thinking, how does any of this help me in the practical matters of life?
In every way, every day!
If one or more of these sensing ways resonated with you as something that you recognize you already do, you can begin to use it deliberately to help you know any next step you need to take.
The trickiest part of this is acknowledging it and then trusting it. And you have to really trust it completely. With that trust, you can use any of these ways to check in with a question about something and get the most helpful answer for you that you need right now.
You notice I wrote: the most helpful answer for you right now… You may not always get the answer you want, but you can trust that you will always get what you need.
The answer that comes through today for you may not be the answer you need forever. It’s just the answer for right now. It could change in a day, a week, a month, or a year. What you need in between the answer you want and the answer you get might just be the difference of timing, availability, or life experience.
How can I learn more about this?
Well, there are endless books and teachers out there to choose from. Some of my personal favorite teachers are Sonia Choquette, Sara Wiseman, and Penney Peirce. They each teach their own ‘brand’ of spiritual intuition and I have learned from all of them. So my brand is unique to me also! And that is how this works.
You pick a teacher or a few and you learn through their practices what works best for you. You tweak or change something just a slight bit, and it becomes your own unique flavor.
And if you’d like to work with me, you can email me directly at email@example.com. I absolutely love to help women gain the confidence they want to feel to learn and trust their inner knowing.
